Notice type: | Competitive Contract Notice |
Authority: | Royal Botanic Gardens |
Nature of contract: | Not applicable |
Procedure: | Not applicable |
Short Description: | ‘Treehouses’ will be a temporary exhibition of four treehouses, each designed by a different architect, set across the iconic landscape of RBGK. This will be the site’s main exhibition running from April 2025 to the end of 2025 (Exact date to be confirmed). However, the treehouses will remain insitu for 18 months in total. For the purposes of this exhibition, a treehouse has been defined as being ‘a spatial experience that allows for visitors to engage with a tree in a new and unique way’. Therefore, the designs do not include the traditional idea of a treehouse and are a selection of unique structures incorporating a wide range of materials. Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (RBGK) (‘The Client’ or ‘The Employer’) will be seeking a Principal Contractor to deliver the fabrication (with design elements) and installation of all four treehouses including root protection measures in line with the designs. The contract will also include the dismantling and disposal (recycled) of all four structures. |
