Short Description: | Repairs to the tower including replacement of areas of defective ragstone facings, repointing, repairs and replacement of Bath stone dressings and reinstatement of original pinnacles which were removed after the Second World War Works are grant aided by English Heritage. Firms expressing an interest in the works are asked to apply for, and submit a response to, a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire. Following assessment of the PQQs, formal tenders will be requested from a shortlist of no more than five contractors. Respondents to the PQQ will be expected, amongst other things, to submit the following by no later than Friday 4 April 2014: • Construction Skills registration number • Evidence of annual turnover in excess of £500,000 per annum • Evidence of extended experience of carrying out works of the type described above to listed buildings, including the contact details for three professional referees. Firms specialising in works to heritage buildings will be preferred. Membership of the Stone Federation Great Britain will be required. • Evidence of experience of acting as main contractor for a project of this type and scale, including competence to act as principal contractor for the purposes of CDM regulations • Evidence of a satisfactory Health and Safety Policy and record. |
